Converting Videos Using HandBrake
Here`s a quick look at the User Interface of HandBrake. The very first window that appears when you open HandBrake is shown in snapshot. This window lets you select single or multiple files for conversion. On the left side, under the Source Selection, click on Folder to select multiple files or click File to open a single file.

Browse and choose the video file that you want to convert and click open.

Under the Destination label, click on Browse and choose a destination path where you want to save the converted video file.

Enter a name for the output video in the File Name field and click Save. The destination along with the output filename is will be shown in the File field.
Once you defined the destination for the output, you can easily convert the video to a configured preset. Select your desired preset from the right side of the window under the Presets label.

To convert the video according to your compatible device hardware format scroll down under the Presets section and Click Devices. Select your compatible device from the list.

Once you select a preset, the configured settings will be automatically updated according to the selected preset. You can also edit them or customize the preset settings under the Output Settings section.
Now you can simply click on Start Encode Green button at the top of the window to start transcoding the video.

Once the encoding is started, you can see the Time-Remaining, pending jobs related information at the bottom of the window. You can also set terminating actions like Shutdown, Log off, or Do nothing using the When Done options list.
When the encoding is completed, the converted video will be saved at the defined destination folder. Now your new video is ready to rock and roll on your compatible device or hardware.

Compressing video using HandBrake
HandBrake lets you effectively compress the video size while keeping the original video quality maintained. To compress your video quickly & easily follow the below guideline.
Open HandBrake and at the left side, under the Source Selection, click on Folder to select multiple files or click File to open a single file. You can also simply click on the Open Source button if the window is already opened or you are using an older version of HandBrake.
Browse and choose the video file that you want to compress and click open. Under the Destination label, click on Browse and choose a destination path where you want to save the compressed video file.

Enter a name for the output video in the File Name field and click Save. Under the Output Settings section, set MP4 as the video Container format.

Click the Video tab and set Video Codec to H.264 (x264).

Select a preset according to your compatible device or your required format from the Presets section. If you just want to compress the size and keep your format the same, we recommend you choose the preset that matches best with the video`s original quality.

Set the framerate, we recommend keeping it the same as your source video framerate. In general, you can set it to 30fps by choosing 30. Make sure you mark the Constant Framerate to ensure better compatibility.

Enter an Average Bitrate (kbps) for the output video. The higher the bitrate the higher the video quality and the larger the size. We recommend you to keep it between 2,000-10,000. You can also try by setting multiple values and can choose the optimal one.
